General Patient Journey
For Detailed SOP:
This is a high-level overview. For the complete radiology workflow — including external vs internal pathways, Fujifilm CR operations, DICOM transfer, and film delivery — see Radiology Clinical Workflow↴.
Referral & Registration
Doctor creates an imaging order in SystmOne↴ (internal) or patient presents with a referral letter (external). Registration and queue assignment are completed at Counters 12–15.
Radiology Intake
Patient submits the X-ray form or checklist at Room 7. Staff confirm patient identity and enter examination details into the Fujifilm CR system.
Imaging & Processing
The radiographer conducts the X-ray examination, then finalizes and edits images in the CR system to ensure quality and correct labeling.
PACS Transfer & Completion
Finalized DICOM images are transferred to Orthanc PACS↴. For internal cases, the order is marked complete in SystmOne. External cases receive printed films for return to their originating clinic.
Review & Discharge
Internal patients return to the referring doctor for image review via the Orthanc web interface. External patients are discharged with their imaging films and advised to return to their referring clinic.
