The Tuberculosis Clinic provides structured, confidential care for TB case detection, treatment, and follow-up through a multidisciplinary team. Care emphasizes infection control, daily DOTS supervision, accurate documentation, and coordinated referral to ensure cure and break transmission.

Equipment & Suppliesโ
For Ziehl-Neelsen staining โ an arrangement & liasie with MLT, KK Maharani for AFB smear procedure to be done at Lab, KK Maharani.
Sterile containers with proper labels
Liaise with KK Maharani Radiology unit for screening & schedule xray procedure.
Tuberculin syringes, rulers, and documentation logs for TST screening
Digital BP monitors, weighing scales, height rods, and thermometers
For staff handling suspected/confirmed TB cases
For patients with cough
Alcohol rub, soap, and sinks
For room cleaning after each session
For sputum containers and contaminated materials
Dedicated cabin designed for patient isolation and focused care delivery
BM (Bahasa Malaysia) and English resources
Secure cabinets for TBIS cards, appointment logs, and sensitive physical records
Medication & Pharmacyโ
First-Line Anti-TB Drugs:
- Fixed-dose combinations preferred: Isoniazid (H), Rifampicin (R), Pyrazinamide (Z), Ethambutol (E)
- Streptomycin (if needed for intensive phase)
- Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) supplementation
Storage Requirements:
- Temperature-controlled storage (15โ25ยฐC)
- Separate locked cabinet for rifampicin (to prevent misuse)
- Inventory management system โ FEFO (First Expired First Out)
